An in-progress turnkey fit-out for a multi-storey building - a core comms room, an OM4 fibre backbone in star topology to every floor, and per-floor Cat6A, switching and Wi-Fi, through to full commissioning.
A turnkey building network we are currently delivering: a core comms room in the basement, an OM4 fibre backbone running in a star topology to every floor, and per-floor copper, switching and wireless, all the way through to configuration, testing and as-built documentation.
The Scope
Basement - main comms room
- Core rack cabinets (42U, 600x800) installed
- Core Layer-3 switch, dual PDUs and top fan units
- Vertical cable management throughout
- OM4 fibre aggregation terminated in a star topology to each floor
- Fibre links tested by OTDR and loss measurement
- Access points and switches installed, dressed, organised and labelled
Floors 1-8 (per floor)
- 12U wall cabinets installed
- 48-port PoE+ access switches and 24-port Cat6A patch panels
- OM4 fibre LIU and splice tray (8-core per floor)
- Cat6A terminated and tested
- Fibre uplinks to the core terminated LC-LC duplex
- Wi-Fi access points and switches installed
- Patch cords, organisers and dressing; all equipment and cabling labelled
Configuration, testing & commissioning
- Core and access switches configured - VLANs, uplinks and PoE settings
- Connectivity verified across network ports and AP uplinks
- Fibre OTDR testing for loss and continuity
- Final labelling and as-built documentation - accurate floor plans and termination records
Status
This project is currently in progress. We will publish the full completion report, figures and finished photography once the build is handed over.
