The Brief
Our client wanted to solve a problem the property industry had lived with for decades: the true safety and compliance status of a building is fragmented, hard to access, and invisible to the people who care about it most (residents, tenants, and buyers). The vision was bold: create an independent compliance score for property, the way a credit score works for personal finance. Our job was to turn that vision into a working, scalable, production-ready platform.
What We Built
We delivered MyRegulyne as a single platform that brings four distinct domains together under one roof.
- Core - the central data repository that holds each building's "DNA": information, documents, and scoring data.
- One - a submission and decision-tracking system with document upload and approval workflows.
- Nexus - the collaboration layer that connects administrators, residents, and stakeholders through role-specific portals.
- Sphere - the analytics and risk layer that powers the scoring engine, compliance tracking, and reporting.
At the centre of it all is the Regulyne 1000 scoring engine we built. It is a fully configurable system that evaluates each building through a transparent hierarchy (pillars, categories, subfactors). It produces an objective, auditable score out of 1000, and every point is traceable back to the evidence behind it, so the result is explainable rather than a black box.
The Architecture
We designed MyRegulyne as a domain-driven, microservice-ready platform. We split the system into clearly bounded modules, each owning its own responsibility. This means the platform scales by design rather than by accident, and each domain can evolve and deploy independently as demand grows.
The result is a cloud-native infrastructure built for reliability and scale. The entire system is fully containerized with Docker and Kubernetes-ready, with separate staging and production pipelines for clean, repeatable, surprise-free deployments.
The Stack
- Backend: NestJS, TypeORM, PostgreSQL. A robust foundation for transactional integrity and complex compliance data.
- Frontend: Next.js, React, TanStack Query. Rich data visualisation for a fast, responsive experience on any device.
- Storage: S3-compatible object storage for secure, scalable handling of sensitive building documents.
- Security: JWT-based authentication, TOTP multi-factor authentication for admins, and role-based access control throughout.
- Infrastructure: Docker, Kubernetes-ready, dedicated staging and production environments.
The Outcome
We delivered a production-ready platform that makes building safety and compliance transparent for the first time. It gives residents, buyers, and administrators a single, trusted source of truth, and gives our client a scalable foundation to grow on.
